Common questions
How is reading time worked out?
We use an average adult reading speed of 238 words per minute, and 130 words per minute for speaking time, like a presentation or video script.
What is the Flesch reading ease score?
A score from 0 to 100 based on sentence length and syllables per word. Higher is easier: 60–70 is plain English that most adults read easily. Most websites should aim for 60 or more.
What keyword density should I aim for?
There is no magic number. Use your main keyword naturally in the title, first paragraph and a few headings. If one word is above about 3% of the text, it may read as stuffed.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. It is checked in your browser and never leaves your device. A draft is kept only in this browser so you don’t lose it if you refresh.
